Ego is a texting companion. To do its job it has to remember what you tell it. This page says exactly what is kept, where it goes, and how to make it disappear.
Your mobile number and time zone, given at signup. Your messages to Ego and its replies, including photos you send and links you paste. Things Ego infers from the conversation: the threads it is following ("interview Thursday"), a running summary of older conversation, and its own decisions (when it chose to text you and why). Payment reference: Stripe's identifier for your deposit; we never see your card number.
Only to run Ego for you: replying, remembering, deciding when to text you first, and showing you your own Mind View page. We do not sell or rent your data, do not use it for advertising, and do not use your conversations to train models.
OpenAI generates Ego's replies and reads the photos you send. Your messages are sent to OpenAI's API under terms that exclude training on API data. CadenceRCS (operated by Salus, Inc., an affiliated company) and Google RCS Business Messaging carry the messages to and from your phone, subject to Google's own policies. Your carrier delivers SMS when RCS is unavailable. Stripe handles the deposit. Render hosts the servers and database, in the United States.
A photo you send is fetched from Google's temporary link, downscaled, shown to the model once, and not kept. We keep only the fact that a photo was sent and its dimensions. Images Ego generates for you are stored so they can be delivered, and are deleted with your account.
For as long as you use Ego. Signup records for people who never completed setup are removed after 30 days.
Text STOP to end all messages. Text PAUSE and RESUME to pause. Text DELETE MY DATA (then CONFIRM DELETE) and every message, thread, summary, decision and image tied to you is deleted from our database within minutes, and the conversation is closed on the carrier side. Your Mind View page shows you everything Ego holds. For anything else, text Ego and a person will follow up.
Ego is for adults. We do not knowingly provide it to anyone under 18; tell us and we will delete the account.
If this policy changes in a way that matters, Ego will tell you in the conversation before the change takes effect.
